Robbie, I just happened to be looking up bullfighters and came across your site. I am your cousin - my mom is Patty (Smets) Lopez. We always enjoyed watching the rodeo - just to see if your were bull fighting. How have you been? We heard about your last pout with the Bull... and heard you were going into broadcasting - with the Rodeos of cource, instead of out there with the bulls again. You were one tough cookie. hey rob how r things well ive been fighting bulls bout every weekend as u know and i was wondering if you knew anything i can do to help not fight my head so much because i got so many contractors/riders/judges etc that im gonna make it far and when i hear that to much sometimes i get big headed and then get knocked back down and dont do good a a show i have confidence in myself but i dont like cocky people and i dont know how to keep a level head

Hey, Rob.........miss you on the PBR tour. I'm a great-granma, and never miss a chance to watch the bull-riders or the fighters. Saw a new deal where there is this "X" see-saw in the middle of the arena.........made out of steel. Four guys on the ends of the two see-saws. One wild and crazy bull. This is the most hilarious thing I've seen in a while! Would love to send it to you, but don't know how to do that with this kind of set up. Whatever, you enjoy your life now, you hear me? You've earned it!

Rob, Just wanted to take a minute to tell you what a wonderful time we had in Greensboro. We were there thru tickets we had won from Daisy. It was fantastic meeting you in the VIP room. We are members of the PBR and try to go to close events. Even to Jerome's ranch. I know your time is very valuable and I am sure you are pulled in many directions but you never rushed us at all. You let us have pictures made with you and just visited with us like you had no where else to go. The others in our group met you at the Daisy booth but I really felt special. You are a wonderful person and we miss not always seeing you but I like knowing you are still in the business and safe at the same time. Take care and thanks again. I miss Rob Smets he was a great bullfighter I ever saw down here fighting off the bulls so the cowboys get away. I miss him so much I wish he did not have to retired. I still watch the PBR but it is not the same with out him but life goes on. Thanks Britteny

Rob i met you friday August 31 at the central texas fair and rodeo i asked you about your school because i am very interested. i would not like any thing better than to go to your school and get to know you. you have been a big inspiration to me and i want to be just like you. i am a jr in high school and none of my friends know who you were but they do know because all i talk about is bein a bullfighter. i want to know more about the school and if you do get to meet me i would prove that bullfightin is my dream.

Rob, i talked with Cody Lostroah at the rodeo bible camp in Greely Co. this summer he said that the fighting school through Lanchaster had been cancled. i've been trying to get a hold of the company that bought them out but couldn't raise anybody. Are you planning to rescedual or have another? if you could let me know that would be great, i've been trying to get in your school for two years now. i want to be the best for Christ that i can be, so i want to learn from the best. thanks

Mr. Smets, I have watched all of my life and met you once or twice with my Uncle Joe "Bullbait" Kennedy (retired bullfighter). I think thats why i chose to stop ridin bulls and start protecting the riders. Some day I want to be as good as you are. Everytime i see you, you are one of the most respectful bullfighters when you are talking to people.
