Hey Everybody,
I had a really big week in Las Vegas. The PBR presented me with the first-ever Jim Shoulders Lifetime Achievement Award--talk about the icing on the cake to a great career!
The next night during the first round of the PBR Finals, for the first time in 6 years, I stepped out and fought 3 bulls in the first section! I can’t thank Cody Lambert and Sean Gleason for letting say one last goodbye to the greatest fans in the world. And to my long-suffering wife, Carla, I can now say: “it is officially over.”
I drove back to Texas in time for the birth of my grandson, Carter Clint Owens! He was born Monday afternoon at 5:30 and was 6 lbs., 14 oz. and 20 in. long. Baby is good, Mom is good and God is Great!
I’ll be home for a few days and then go to Bob Kingsley’s house for a celebrity roping. I’ll have to get my Classic Ropes out and see if I can catch something. Then next week I head to Livingston, Texas for the Bull Riding and Bullfighting School with Gary Lefew and Miles Hare. It is going to be fund spending a few days with old friends and sharing with the up and coming youth of our sport.
Hope all is well for everyone. Have blessed week.
